Model 1258v7b. Swapping prop today and had to remove the anode behind the prop to get the new VORTEX prop to fit correctly. First time I've ever removed the anode in the 15 years I've owned the engine. Noticed a few metal shavings behind the anode not many. Thought that maybe they were coming from my lower unit so I drained the oil out and didn't notice anything wrong with the gear oil. I always change the gear oil at least twice a year and has never noticed any metal shavings in it. Is this something I should be worried about. The motor runs very good and there has never been any grinding noise coming from the lower unit that I could hear. Just got worried when I saw the shavings hope that it's nothing. Thought maybe they were from the anode it looked as if it had some small scrapings on the back of it.
