87 50hp Force Smokes Alot!!!

When running motor in a barrel, or with muffs on a lot of white smoke comes out of exhaust!!! Is this Normal ??? I always heard that Force motors smoke more than others. Also black oil film floating in water barrel after running!!!

2 strokes will smoke and a fair bit at idle when cold. There will also be some oil sheen on the water as unburned/partially burned oil exits with exhaust gasses. If the engine performs well from idle to WOT, I wouldn't be too concerned with a little smoke.

You can minimize smoke by de-carboning the engine and fine tuning your fuel-air screw. Beware, the air screw is very sensitive and you should be well informed if you plan on making adjustments. A wrong adjustment on the air screw can damage cylinders and pistons.
