87 85hp force outboard motor trouble

I am having an issue with my 1987 force outboard motor, it started with no spark on any of the coils narrowed that down to the ignition switch, changed the switch and the motor is back to running but when I throttle up the motor only run like it is at trolling speed, I didn't have this problem before the switch went bad, could this be a faulty switch, fouled spark plugs, or somthing else

Sounds more like a linkage problem?

How could this become a linkage issue if it was running fine before the switch went bad and that's all I changed
