Hi everyone..it must be contagious..I also have an '87 90hp same thing happening..was going down river and started losing power then died..has not started since..no spark..everyone says power pack..would really like to know for sure before I buy one.

Laddie,<br /><br /> I just thought I would give you a quick update. Unfortunately my local marina could not get my boat in soon enough to get it fixed for my trip. So, I decided to take a chance and replace the switch box that I felt was causing the problem. I switched it out Friday night and it started fine that night. Early Saturday (6 am) I tried it again and it fired right up. That was the first time I had got it to start in the morning when it was still cool. I took it out on the water for a test run and it ran great. It idled good, accelerated fine and the top speed was 45 mph just like when I ran it last. At this point I am fairly confident that it is fixed as long as the problem does not re-appear between now and friday I am going to drag it to Minnesota when I go. I can't thank you enough for all of your help. I had no idea where to even start looking for the problem. Thanks again for taking the time to share your knowledge with me.<br /><br />Thanks<br />Steve
