Sure 87 billion dollars is a lot of money, but freedon is expensive.
Many people are complaining about the 87 billion dollars needed for our forces in Iraq.
The leftists is Calipornia don't mention that we went from an 18 bilion dollar surplus to a 37 billion dollar deficit in only 18 months. The war cost is is only (only?) 32 billion more than what "Grayout" Davis blew, excuse the term, in record time.
So when some Demorat complains about the cost of the war effort being a waste of money, I remind them of how much money this brain dead crook has cost the State of Confusion, (Calif.), with his newley coined term..."PROGRESSIVE ADJENDA", which is nothing but a socialist giveaway program.
Grayout has raised about 5 million dollars this last week, to try and keep his crooked "azz" in office. The majority of the money came from corporations. I guess he has already bled his individual donators to death.
Still the Calif. government spends $27 million more a day, than it takes in and has gone from one of the top 5 wealthiest "nations" in the world, to a THIRD world country and declining.
I hope Davis turns the light off when he gets voted out of office next month.
"Keep on truckin'".... DUBYA....

...Bob on the left coast...

Bob, everything you said is correct.
The only problem is Cruz Bustamante might win this election and he is just as crooked and worse for the state than Davis is.
Vegas odds makers has Bustamante winning the election at this point. Its still early though.
I think McClintock is the best choice by far but he doesn't have the name recognition that Arnold has so he probably won't win because California is full of idiots.
So come election day if McClintock doesn't have a chance (or may of dropped out by then) my vote will go towards Arnold.
Somebody needs to come in and close the F'ing border. I can't speak spanish.

Re: 87 Billion for Iraq...Minus 55 Bil. for Calif.

The number one responsability of government is to keep it citizens safe.

Last week the Californian government did a treasonous act by putting its own agenda above all the citizens of this country.

By allowing illegal aliens get drivers licences it allowed criminals a ticket to gain access to all the places that can do you harm.

This was done for the sole reason to obtain the Hispanic vote.

While the US government is spending massive efforts and money on homeland defence. This states government and Davis's final signature stuck a huge knife in every US citizens back.

Now, since Grey Davis has done plenty to make the citizens of California mad and upset. He's now done something to make every US citizen less safe and secure.

God forbid if the next terrorist is found to have a California drivers licence, I want Gray Davis and all the state assembly that voted for this, to be tried convicted and sent to prison.

I'm in a quandry here to Jay. Don't want Bustamonte at all. McClintock is by far the best choice and exactly what we need, but are we going to have to vote for Arnold to keep Bustamonte out?

Another stinkin' catch 22.

I agree Skinnywater.Seems noone will touch this illegal drivers license issue or illegal immigration with a ten foot pole so close to election time. What tees me off is how the hispanic citizens would not also be in opposition of this fiasco and rise above sympathizing with illegal Mexican immigrants seemingly just to infuriate what they consider to be a conservative conspiracy to oppress their people.Same here in south Texas.I have yet to hear any hispanics complain of the national security issues that this turning a blind eye to the Mexican border poses.I regretfully notice that GW included doesn't want to go there.Somebody had better do something before this mess is completely out of hand.

Giving Drivers licences to illegals is the most idiotic thing I have heard in a long time. If I was an illegal and I walked into the DMV to get my ILLEGAL license, I would have to tell the person behind the counter that I am illegal, right?? Wouldn't that person behind the counter, who is also and agent of the gov't, be in a conundrum because they person standing in front of them is a law breaker, yet is there for a valid reason, legally?

If a person can obtain a DL, are they officially illegal? Does that mean we have a new way to become a citizen, hop on down to the DMV.

Stupid Stupid Stupid. I thought it was bad when people from Chicago would hop the greyhound, come to Minneapolis to get their Welfare checks and hop back on the bus to Chicago. At least these are our citizens..

I have a question. Does this make illeagle aliens to be able to vote in any city/state/federal elections? If so, that would be a huge crime. Also, how do you think all the leagle immigrants that spent years of study, learning and effort it took to become American citizens feel. It is really hard sometimes to be optimistic when you hear of these things happening. :(

Re: 87 Billion for Iraq...Minus 55 Bil. for Calif.

The law is written in the bill that it prohibits using the illegals application for the licence to be used against him to deport.

Yes, all that's needed to register to vote is a drivers licence. However, it's against the law for a non citizen to do so. This falls into the sole juristiction of local county's. They won't have the resources or the will to investigate or enforce.
So yes, as it is now, there will be massive voter fraud.

I'll qualify something here.
I'll agree that an illegal alien doesn't neccesarily care about his host country, and probably doesn't.
However, a legal alien or immigrant I believe has a very genuine consern for his host country. I fully believe they have even more appreciation for thier host country then born citizens.
This has been my observations anyhow.

TexasSkeeter ,According to my sources they will indeed be allowed to vote. And if the motivators behind this crap get their way,you will be considered a racist in jig time.Frankly ,living in south Texas for most of my life ,I'm not surprised.Mostly disgusted. The politicians are just going with the flow if you'll pardon my pun.

Oh, and by the way. As almost a punishment to the citizens of this state by our supreme governor.

The entire cost of the bill, it's implimentation and additional burdens, are solely and directly passed on to the citizens by way of increased drivers licencing fees.

The other thing that crook Davis did was to hand them voting rights along with those licenses. That means you have uneducated people voting on issues that affect everyone else. Including the presidency! What kind of sell out is this? This clown needs to be removed now before he can do anymore damage.

Those illlegal aliens are here to make money. They can make more here under the table to send home to their families. I can respect them wanting to provide for their families. However, this is going about it all the wrong way. At this rate, if they do get citizenship, they will all be in jail for tax evasion. Then what? Was it worth it? The cycle will only keep spinning in circles.

I don't know much about this diver's license thing, but where is the department of homeland security in all of this? Surely there must be guidelines about what states can and cannot do regarding this.

And surely there must be some federal standards regarding voting, at least in federal elections.

I know I just obtained a license in Michigan, and had to present a certified copy of a birth certificate along with my old Oregon license, and then get it reviewed by a supervisor and signed off on.

It seems the only thing they had no interest in is whether or not I could successfully drive a car.
