I am putting a '87 Johnson 15 power head into a '79 Evinrude 15 chassis (broken '79 crank shaft) and I have come across two subtle differences. Can you verify these for me and do you know of any others coming at me?
1 Vertical control shaft bearing mounting to power head: location different, will the '87 control shaft bearing clamp fit the '79 power head?
2 '79 drive shaft o-ring and seal replaced with '87 double seal.
Any others that you know of?
