SERIAL NO. OB170699,REBUILT CARBS,CHANGED PLUGS,STILL HAS TROUBLE GETTING TO PLANE ,,NOT ALL THE TIME,STUDDERING AND THEN ,OFF AND RUNNING,SOME ONE SUGGESTED SWITCH BOX,,SOMTHING ABOUT A LOW RANGE ,AND HIGH RANGE SOMTHING OR OTHER ,I AM LOST ,HE ALSO SAID IT MAY BE TRIGGER,,,ANYWAY OF CHECKING THIS OUT WITHOUT PAYING 80.00 AN HOUR TO FIND THE PROBLEM,,HELP,,,THANKYOU FOR YOUR TIME ,RBASS

rbass57 next time please don't use caps.<br /><br />So are you saying you that sometimes you can't get up to plane or that it is just a slow going getting there.

sorry bout capitol letters,did not mean to shout my question. yes sir,starts fine ,idles,when i go to load er up she studers,and then off and running,then most time she studers again,occasioally she stays up on plane with no problem,,thank you,,,i need help,,,rbass

Are you sure you are getting good spark on all cylinders?<br /><br />Really sounds like a fuel problem (even though you rebuilt the carbs). Start from the fuel tank and work your way to the fuel pump and carbs. Is the tank venting? Does the primer bulb get nice and hard? Try having someone pump the primer bulb while attempting to get up on plane and if this helps, your fuel pump is ailing and needs to be rebuilt. Check the inline fuel filter on the port side of the engine. If all checks out, it wouldn't be the first time rebuilt carbs were still time blame. Just make sure all orfices are free of debris
