88 40hp running rough

The engine would not idle or run full out (or anywhere in between) with out continually pressing in on the choke. Rebuilt both carberators and have the same problem.

Prior to hooking all gas lines up after carb rebuild, verified plenty of fuel through lines by squeezing bulb and watching fuel run out of both lines to the carberators, but it seems to be starving for fuel.

The fuel is new with stabalizer added.

Any other ideas?

well you most likely missed something in the carbs, floats properly set? did you remove all the jets and clean them. you have a primer, not a choke. the primer injects fuel directly into the intake manifold, by passing the carbs. also since the primer is getting fuel, that rules out the fuel pump. read the TOP SECRET FILE, 1st post in this section.
