You guys on here have helped me greatly in the past year. I am grateful. Now, I've replaced the fuel line but the motor still dies after running for 40 min. or so. However, now with the new fuel line I have a better idea of what is happening. When the motor dies the primer bulb is totally flat. You can hear the hose sucking gas. After about 30 seconds the bulb is full again and I can crank it up and head on. This only happens after a 40 min or so ride at half throttle. Never right after starting out, only after running for a while. I'm thinking vapor lock but I don't have a clue why it's doing so.

The vent for your fuel tank may be blocked or partially obstructed. The fuel pump would pull a vacuum in the gas lines and flatten the primer bulb. When the motors off, the vacuum bleeds away and fuel will flow again--for a while.

I'll have a look at the vent. However, it does it with the fuel cap off as well.
Thanks

Well, I,ve pulled off the vent hose. It's clear. I blew through it and poured a bit of gas through it. Any other suggestions?Fuel pump?Carb?

sounds like something is clogged between the primer bulb and the gas tank. is your feul filter between the tank and the bulb?? what about the screen on the end of the pick up tube???
your fuel pump is working because it pull the bulb flat with suction so I would say the fuel pump is not the problem and the carb are not the cause of this either it's a blockage somewhere replace any fuel lines and filters between the engine and the tank(their cheap in the grand scheme of things) What kind of gas tank do you have?????

I've changed the fulr line. A Wal-Mart one, all one piece. This site helped me realize the hoses only go on one way. I don't know where the filter is but I don't think its in the line itself. The tank is under the floor. The only was to get to it is to pull up the floor. Maybe I should try running with a aux. tank?
