hey guys motor started acting up you can run it as far as u want it runs fine until u set it down and try to take back off then it runs good up to 2400 rpms then when you hit 25 26 it starts missing i put plug wires stator coil powerpack and plugs does the same thing do any of you have a idea

I'm not a whiz at any of this but have you checked your grounds and/or to see if you have a bare wire grounding? Fuel filter ? Is it missing after the engine is warmed up ? All your fuel lines good (no dry rot/cracks) ? Is it VRO? If not maybe check the mesh screen on the fuel pump for trash.

check you spark. stop when it is doing it and check spark immediately, could have a coil heating up and failing.

i put a new coil on it does the same thing with the new one as i did with the old one thanks for the replys

That engine should have the pack under the flywheel, disconnect the orange temp sensor to pack as if shorted or head is getting out it will limit the rpm to 2500rpm. Aslo follow that wire as it runs around bottom of splash cowling and is known to rub a bare spot in it.

On my 48 it's located on the right side of motor (by ignition coil). It is round and should have a red wire and three yellow coming out. I just changed mine along with the cd2 conversion for the power pack.

what would the rectifer make the motor due if it was bad or getting hot?
