'89 88hp evinrude lower unit

Per someone's suggestion I was trying to drain the lower unit on my '89 88hp rude and cannot loosen the drain plug. I can remove the vent screw but not the drain plug!! I tried WD40 with no success. How about heat (propane torch)?<br /><br />Thanks...

I had the same problem,if you don't have a impact driver,which I didn't,what I did was weld a piece of high carbon steel ,the proper thickness and width to fit the plug, onto a old socket,worked great for me,cheaper than buying a driver too!
