The trim on my engine will go up VERY VERY SLOW and down at an OK pace. I've never messed with a trim motor before and I know this one is new. Previous owner replaced it. What's my first move addressing this? I checked the pump out and can't figure out where the fill and bleed screws are. Also, do I fill it with the engine up or down?

Going to buy the manual today.

Many times that type problem is due simply to loose connections, tight but dirty connections, or cables that might be corroded internally.

In any case, all of the above, when engaging the electric tilt motor, would result in the cable/wiring at some point to become quite hot, and it gets hotter closer to the loose, dirty, or faulty portion of the cable.

Carefully feel the wiring at various points to see if this might be the problem. Let us know what you find.
