i have read that when a stator goes bad it will melt. I noticed some cream like yellow looking stuff on the block at the back on the starter side. It dripped and landed near the bottom coil on that side. Didnt think anything about it till now. What u think? When i check timer base tonight i will check on this also.

the plastic arm that connects the spark advance lever to timer base is missing completely. Must have broke or come off or something. This is deffinately the problem. Gonna try and find another. Thanks for all your help on this guys.

Does anyone have one of these arms they want to sell? Cant seem to find any no where.
