I have a 24' CC w/ twin (CR), 89 Merc 150's. These are low hour, good running motors. Today I was running at 1200-1500 rpm on one engine in 4 ft water on mild trim. Water pumping fine. I lowered & fired up other motor and it was OK for a few mins. and then cut out and would not start. At the dock I found that the the flywheel is stuck solid. Motor has NEW impeller and plenty of oil in the tank & line to pump. Any ideas? I heard no noise at all, she just quit. Thanks, Chris

I think I would pull the spark plugs and see if you can turn it over. Will it go into neutral? If so should have free spin w/plugs out. Try tuning the prop by hand, make sure you have the plugs out so it will not start.

Put the Kill switch down too so you dont get a HT shock should you be touching a lead accidentally.

Thanks, I will try that but it does go into neutral & the prop turns freely. I cannot move the flywheel by hand in neutral or F & R. I'll take out the plugs & let you know. Thanks, Chris

I think I would start by pulling the LU off to determine if the PH or LU is bound up, then proceed from there.
