So I have a 8ft rib dingy + hp Nissan 2 stroke, the thing flies when i am alone in there.. but having trouble getting on a plane with 2 fairly light adults, it has dorsoil fins on it also.

I am not sure where the load should go with two people, l have been trying having the passenger sit right as far up as possible but i am thinking that maybe we need to be further back so the bow goes up more.. frustrating..

any tips to try to get her on a plane ?
Thanks

Place mate up bow, with boat floating trim engine to be perpendicular (90 deg) with respect to water level. Go full throttle, if that cambo doesn't plane your motor is too small, mate weights too much and rib produces too much hull drag. Maybe could optimize engine rpm by installing an induction tach and playing with prop pitches to better hole shot when with 2.

Or you could upgrade that 8 to a 9.8 HP and achieve much better punch as both models are same 170 CC. Must swap complete carb for the 9.8 model.

Happy Boating

No, you cannot upgrade a two-stroke 8 to a 9.8 and the only thing you need to do is change the prop to one with a lower pitch.

Be sure the boat is inflated to the maximum rated pressure.
