Slate, if the one you have on the motor works through the whole range of throttle, leave it alone and keep the new one in your tool box.

just got back from fishing, the engine run like a dream thanks oldcatmount, 23mph on a 2.75m sib and great fun, spent more time shooting around rather than fishing lol

The new one has provision for an adjusting screw. The original one would have had that screw ITYWF.

The one from your parts box is not adjustable. If you fit the new one you will probably have to fit the adjusting screw as well and the roller of course.

thanks vic.S, I have a new cam follower with the screw ajustment, arrived from usa but the one fitted is working fine right through the range so I will leave it as is and keep the spare one, and yes terrifying is correct lol, I dont just blast around the irish sea at 23mph though, I use my sib for fishing most of the time just pottering around, but it is nice if the sea gets up to be able to get in quick
