9.5 Armature plate installation

Hi,
I hope JIm Reeves is around tonight.... I bought a 72 9.5 Evinrude seized solid. I tried everything but c-4 to get it free but no luck. I did get lucky though and found a donor powerhead. Everything was complete except the ignition. I took the armature plate off the old motor and I can't seem to get it ligned up correctly. I believe the coils are supposed to be .020 from the flywheel magnets. With this being a sealed unit once the flywheel is installed, how can you make sure your coils are gapped properly?

Coils should be flush with mounting boss. The brass ring under the armature plate should be with the widest flat side up.
