Is there a step by step procedure for a 9.5 carb rebuild? I have the parts catalog and the service manual. Neither of which have step by step instructions. Am I supposed to look at the parts catalog and and identify the parts in my rebuild kit and swap them out? I've heard that this is very easy, but I've looked high and low with no luck finding a detailed procedure. Am I searching the wrong places? Thanks for any and all help.

I'm not aware of such a thing existing. I understand your reluctance to start as was I the first time I broke a carb. apart. My best advice would be to take a lot of pictures before you start that you can refer back to. You will do fine and if you get stuck, just ask. There is one mounting bolt that is tricky to get at. All you do is advance the throttle and the screw bolt becomes exposed. That's is far as I got before asking my first question. LOL. Best of luck. Rick.

If that's tricky, then I'm in a lot of trouble because I already got the carb off and never touched the throttle. Either I've done something wrong or what I've removed from my engine is not the carb which is highly unlikely...right?

Maybe, you can remove half the carburetor without doing that, but it's a little difficult to get the float bowl. .
