9.9 bigfoot primer gets hard

my cousin has a 9.9m big foot that the bulb gets hard and cannot be pumped. /motor starts and will run /but after a min or so it quits and wount start back up /after setting a few min it fires back up the dies soon after / any help would be great. somethings wrong in the fuel flow im guessing.

What year of motor? Have you checked the fuel pump to be sure it is working? Use clear gas line between the pump, filter, and carb to see if it is pumping or if it is getting air bubbles in it if a seperate pump system. Otherwise rebuid the pump carb unit. Also check all the vacum pressure lines for leaks.

Check the inside of the fuel line.The gray hose from mercury falls apart and cloggs things up

he got a carb rebuild kit. it fixed it. thanks for the replies.
