9.9 Kicker on FM165

I have a 9.9 Suzuki motor that I would like to rig up as a backup/trolling motor on my Lowe FM165. The 9.9 seems to have a odd shaft length, around 18 inches and my transome is around 25 out to the side of the main engine. Is it practical to make this work?

When you mount the 9.9 where does the cavitation plate sit in relation to the bottom of the boat inline with the motor?

I haven't tried to mount it yet, but as soon as I get a chance, I will put it up and get a measurement or maybe I will bring it with me tomorrow when I leave to go fishing.
