9.9 or 15 hp suzuki mix ratio

hi some one gave me a boat and although it has a suzuki 9.9 cover on it he told me it might be a 15 i have no idea and on top of that i do not know anything about how much oil to add to the gas as far as i know it is a mid to late 80s model other than that i have no idea the person who gave it to me is no longer arouund for me to ask anyone have any ideas??? :confused: :mad: :confused:

Howdy, Bass Talk.<br /><br />Welcome to iboats. :) <br /><br />You should use a "50:1" mix; 87 octane unleaded and TC-W3 rated outboard oil.<br /><br />In a 6 gallon tank, use a pint of the oil. That will give you a 48:1 mix, which we all use and all call "50:1".<br /><br />If you can find the model number plate or sticker and post it we can ID the engine for you, and you can get an Owner's Manual.
