9.9 Yamaha Four Stroke Water Pump

I started the process of replacing the impeller on my 1995 9.9 four stroke Yamaha. Just bought the boat with motor recently and water is not flowing from pee hole very good. Having bought the Selco manual the directions for pulling the lower unit do not match my lower unit at all? Having trouble trying to disconnect the shift rod and drive line?

Do you see a coupling nut and a short jam nut butting each other in the lower gap of your swivel tube? Unscrew them a 1/2 a turn. Twist the coupling nut up till you see a gap between the upper shift rod and the lower.
