C'mon Bosun I can pull start my 90hp with one hand, it's like having another extra battery on the boat that costs peanuts and never goes flat plus a spare starter motor, key switch, neutral switch, fuse and all the wiring and connections that goes with them. All this stuff rolled into a bit of rope is a bargain.

Maybe yours is a low compression motor!
Good thing to know thanks Fed, i had wondered why the flywheel had a starting rope groove in it.
I will get a right sized rope made up, after spending a lot of time on tractors with their PTOs the last thing id want would be to get my hand pulled back into her

I was getting some other stuff online & chucked a genuine OMC rope into my basket just for fun.

BTW 91Force if it turns out the bad connection is in the big red plug the male & female contacts inside those plugs are replaceable.

Cheers Fed yea , i presume so ill most likely replace anyways does look a lil manky , has an oily residue in the connectors itself. Just glad ive finally found the problem.

Took it out for the arvo today and runs perfect couldnt ask for better. started first time everytime. cheers to you all for the input and advice its much appriciated.
