Re: 90hp yamaha

A Yamaha service manual will help you troubleshoot the motor and perform the maintenance need on your motor. you can pick one up at your local Yamaha shop or online.

to help us help you you need to read and follow this. It will keep us from having to ask a lot of questions. hopefully it will keep us from guessing as to what your motor Model # is and what all you have done to it. Explain how you tested etc.

My initial thought is fuel issues if it idles fine, but I do not think it would idle fine on only 2 cylinders. What spark test did you do. I think that the 90s have 2 pulsar coils, 1 for cylinders 1&3 and the other for cylinder 2

Re: 90hp yamaha

This happened to me this time last year. I pulled the carbs out and cleaned them and then put them back in. there is also a float in each carb and sometimes they get stuck, just wiggle the floats good to make sure they move freely. I am incompetent when it comes to fixing things and I followed advice on this forum and it solved my problem with the exact same motor, so I would do a search on cleaning carbs for yamaha.

Good luck!
