91 90 hp force shifter setup at leg?

I bought this boat and the shifter cable was not conected at the leg.. the lever inside the boat moves the end of the cable in and out with no trouble. the lever on the leg wich the end of the cable conects to seems to work properly. my problem is i am not sure how to corectly conect rear end of the cable to leg.. a diagram would help imensly

Connect the stainless ferrule to the shifter arm. be certain that the groove in the ferrule is locked in with the detent on the stainless cap on the shifter arm. Connect the ball end quick-connect to the ball stud back on the mount on the bottom bypass cover.
