Hi, I have a 1Baja 16 footer speed boat with a '77 Johnson 115. I recently blew the engine ( scored 1st cylinder, bad compression, rough running 
). I'm in the market for a new engine and my mechanic has a '91-'92 evinrude 100 with lots of extras ( hi-performance carbs and boyesen reed valves). I haven't asked if its a 2 or 4 stroke and Im wondering if they only made one or the other that year.<br /><br />Also, does this sound like a good buy? He wants $3000. and he said he rebuilt it for himself and never got around to installing it on his similar checkmate so its been sitting in his garage for about 5 years. <br /><br />Thanks!
