Hey folks, anyone have the water pump procedure outlined with any pictures for a 91 evinrude water pump change?

I think all you have to do is disconnect the shift linkage, drain the gear oil, ubolt the lower unit, remove the housing and impellor, and bolt her back up and refill the gear oil? Is that about right?

Take off the prop as well, no need to damage it if you drop the lu by mistake, gives you a chance to clean all that fishing line off, lol. Make sure you have new seals for the lu fill and vent screws, and any gasket sealing compound for under the impeller plate and housing, and for the housing screws. Throw a little oil on the new impeller as well. Also dont adjust the shift linkage while its off, may seem loose, but the specs are small so try to keep it like it is. When installing the impeller housing over the new impeller , rotate the shaft clockwise while you push down on the housing. Also might wanna take some deepcreep or carb cleaner to clean the exhaust while ur there. Finally if you have compressed air or garden hose blast that water line to flush out any debris. Make sure the grommet on top of the impeller housing slides over that water line nicely. Hardest part is hooking shift linkage back up. GL
