Hey whats up everyone? Just bought my first bought 91 Chaparral 1800 SL w/ Merc 3.0LX i/o with alpha 1 outdrive. The guy ran the boat for close to an hour for me. I checked to make sure it was cold before he started it. Idled beautifully shifted fine revved fine no problems. Really clean engine and outdrive. Next day i took it out warmed it up and before i even made it out the harbor it died at barely cruising speed. So i spent hours drifting around getting it started idling and revving fine and it would die 30 seconds after i would start moving again. I pulled it out of the water and was told by 2 people that I need to change my fuel filters. The guy drained the tank and refilled it the day before I bought it. Does this sound like a fuel filter problem? Or did i just spend my money on a huge headache? Any and all input advice questions or comments are extremely welcomed. Thanks everyone in advance!!!!
