Hey guys I hang out over at ClassicMako.com all the time. I have a bracketed 1980 Mako 235 with twin 1991 Yamaha 130s. I'm getting an alarm when getting up to speed. It is also cutting back my RPMs, or until I bring it down to idle. The oil injection has been removed. I thought the alarm was temp related, but motor is not running warm at all. I have temp guages that are showing good temp. Place hands on both heads and they are warm but not hot and both sides feel the same. Thought temp sensor(s) could be bad but I have unplugged both and still get alarm. I unplugged the alarm at the key no alarm but still the engine shuts down the RPMs. Could I be getting some kind of oil alarm(rev limiter) even though its all been removed? What should I look for? I'm willing to cut and wires...hack you name it to fix this. I dont like the RPM limiting deal. Like I said i have temp guages, premix the oil so there is no reason to keep it. Does anyone know how to disable it? It cuts back way before reaching WOT. Thanks Mike
