How hot should the heads be on a 92 Johnson 115 v4?

Should I be able to put my palm on them and leave it for a few seconds or 10 or what?

I think mine might be getting too hot, But i haven't heard my warning buzzer go off. It pees good and strong. So how can I tell if it's running at the right temp?

Thanks.

Someone you know may have a laser gun for checking temps. The thermostats will open at 143, so expect to see temps between 143-150 on a summer day. The engine overheat horn will go off at 212 and silence when it gets back down to 175. There is a thermostat for each side of the block, so compare the temps on both sides.
