Hi, new to the forum. I am looking at a '92 Proline with same year Yamaha 150 2-stroke. Current owner states that in trying to replace head gasket he broke off two bolts which have to drilled/tapped/helicoiled (?), then replace gasket and bolt on the head. What does this fix involve? Relatively easy or relatively difficult? rough ballpark for cost? (will be done by pro, not me). Any "side" issues to such a fix? Thanks for any advice, Larry

Re: 92 yamaha 150 2 stroke question

I would not buy a motor with a problem like this as you have no idea what is wrong with it to start out with and now it has broken bolts, this could be very costly in the long run.

What if fixing broken bolts does not fix the original problem?
I would have the owner fix it to make sure it runs fine afterwards.

Or you can roll the dice and see.
