Hey all -
Been having issues with my 93 Oceanrunner 225 with the usual smoke issues/oil consumption issues. I've tried to eliminate any fuel line restriction by replacing my filters and a number of the hoses leading to the tank. After putting a new inline fuel filter (nice clear one), I've noticed that it never stays full of fuel. Is this normal or a sign of an air leak in the fuel line? I'd suspect that since this is a suction pump that the filter should remain filled in normal operation. Engine seem to run fine at all speeds.
I've also noticed some oil in the inside of the engine cowling. Looks like its coming from the bottom of the air silencer cover. Looks like I do need a new gasket and seal there. After removing the cover, I notice quite a bit of oil both on the bottom of the assembly and on the throttle body. I read on a previous post about checking the hose at the bottom and will do that at the next opportunity.
Just trying to double check all the small stuff before contemplate replacing the fuel/oil pump and/or going premix.
Thanks in advance,
Ed
