motor cranks, idles, and runs fine. but after running to fishing hole and fishin a while when I crank motor it idles fine even in gear but keeps dying when I throttle up, if I idle in gear a while then I can throttle up and then motor runs seemingly fine. replaced ball and line but still gets soft even when pumped without the motor running tore down carberators and cleaned, gas still leaking from carbs, any ideas?? ps where is the model # located? :D

Serial number will be located on the starboard side of the transom bracket, below the powerhead.

If you go to www.Mercurypartsexpress.com and pretend you are looking for parts, it will tell you to enter the serial number. When you do so, it will post the model number for you.

Serial number is made up of 2 letters and 6 numbers.
Serial number will be similar to EO078323

I am no carb expert, but gas should not be leaking.

I think you may need to accurately re-adjust your float level in the bowl.

Hopefully someone else can be more specific.

May also be a good idea to rebuild the fuel pump, $12.
And make sure your carbs are synced properly.
You don't want one of them running lean or you will suffer serious damage.

Thanks Roscoe im still working on the problem. ordered rebuild kits for carbs and pump. Can't find any clear info on the float level though, the only thing i can figure is that they should be about even with the housing when inverted does that sound about right?
