96 force 50hp purple wire

Im having issues as to where this purple wire goes. Last year i took pics of the harness area but this wire was tucked in so i didnt notice where it went. Im having issues uploading a damn pic. Ugh. Its the thicker of the two purples. The thinner purple wire i have going to looks like a grey or possibly a light purple wire. As of now the engine runs with the way the small purple wire is connected. The only problem I have is the tilt and trim dont work, but thats probably a different issue.

I believe it goes to the Tach the tach wire is either gray or purple. The tilt and trim should be a green/white and a blue/white wire.
