so I have a crack in the plate. Goes across a bolt hole and down the side. Im assuming this outboard was apart at one time and possibly over torqued. The question is should I grind it out and fill it with like a jb weld or look for a new or good used one? Thanks.

Is it close to the exhaust passage? Yes, then get it welded then clean it up.
No? then the JB might work.
Been seeing this product on FB and different adds. It shows a metal welding rod you can
repair things yourself.
Might give that a try???

Yes I seen that commercial looks awesome but who knows I'll have to double check if its near the exhaust.

That's a pretty big crack.
I'd find a shop that can weld it and finish the edges.
Or maybe find a used one?

So the place that has a adapter for me is giving me the run around. So thought I'd come here and ask if anyone has a upper adapter plate for a 96 50 hp I believe the 40 bp uses the same one. And i believe it goes up a 99 year. Please help. Thanks

I did look on ebay. I didn't see anything I'll have to double check.
