replacing one head on my outboard repbuild (pt no. 326505)
I found one on ebay for $20 recvd, very good cond.
However, my problem is this head has no threaded holes for coils like my prev head. All screws match and chamber volumes look identical.
Can I use this head, or keep searching for duplicate. Im toying with the
idea of fabricating bracket for 1 and 3 coil. Can it be done, or wasting time?

Did that purchased head have the same part number imprinted upon it as your damaged head? Either vertically on the center side portion of the head OR in a very small circle near the top portion of the head?

The number of 326505...... is that the number on "your" engine's cylinder head, OR the number on the one you purchased?

Thanks for asking,,,, I couldnt find the part no., but after quadroople checking,,,, I just found 317851 cyl 1/3
Now question becomes is that a valid replacement for 326505?

317851 supersedes up to 326505, meaning that the old (no coil castings) superseds up to the later model head that will accept the coils BUT 326505 (which I believe is your original head?) DOES NOT supersede back to the 317851 number.

317851 ia a cylinder head for a 1974 115hp model

Joe.... Your answer to PM received. Keep in mind that the head bolts are to be torqued 18 to 20 foot pounds in the following sequence.
