Hi everyone, as the title sais I want to replace the Quicksilver 3000 Classic control box with a newer and better box. I was looking into the Teleflex Osprey Control Box Kit Number CH1700-202010 but it has tilt only. the ch1752P is the one with tilt/trim and cut off switch that I might need but at $400 is way out of my range now. The issue with my old one is that when I engage the drive it doesn't do it smoothly someone has to gently push at the engine cable connection for it to engage before throttle goes up. It's one of the cables that has a broken plastic link at the box that's causing this, even so I wanted a different box. I prefer to get one with trim/tilt since it originally came that way. Any advice would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

gica - Welcome aboard.

Do you know we sell remote controls? Click on the edited link in your post to see the rang of controls we have.

Maybe the control broke because the lower shift cable is binding. Not an uncommon occurrence.

What Mercruiser do you have?

Can't remember exactly, I think it's a V8/450cc engine, it's a Bayliner Maxum 2050NL I/O.

Scratch my previous post, that's what happens when you don't use your boat very often. Here's a pic of the specs. And one of the hours and ignition type.

Was thinking on buying the SeaStar Solutions CH1750P Osprey Control but there's no trim or trailer on the handle just on/off.

Ayuh,..... Welcome Aboard,...... In the link above is the SeaStar CH1752P, which has All the features yer lookin' for,.....

You can wire in as many trim switches as ya want, wherever you'd like too,...
Just wire 'em in parallel circuits,....

The CH-1752P is too much so I just got the CH-1750P the tilt kit is $44 if I want it. I can add a standard momentary push switch 3 prong for trim and 2 prong for tilt. I could pass on the deal for the remote box got it really cheap on Amazon and the rep for SeaStar said the base is the same on all 1700's and the handle too, they just added 1 or 2 more switches. You can buy the handle for like $140 with the trim and the kit for $44 plus some taxes and some shipping. It will come to a lot cheaper than 4400 something.
