97 Mercury 125hp Idle Issue

Just bought a 17 ft boat with a 97 125hp Mercury on it. Its a 2 cycle and is carbureted. The motor starts up fine and idles, but after a few minutes the engine sounds like its about to stall then comes back up and is fine. It will keep doing this like every 10 seconds or so in an almost rhythmic pattern, but it never stalls. It just sounds like its going to...the rpm's drop, then come right back up. Someone told me it might be a fuel pump, but I dont think so. If i raise the throttle just a tad....the problem goes away. Should I just adjust the throttle?

Sounds like the idle setting might be a few rpm too low. I'd adjust it up a bit, but not too much that it grinds going into gear.
