this thread is getting way to confusing as the 3.1 carbed engine is a way different animal than the original posters 2.6L motors.
start a new thread for the 250.

Mine is a 225TLRP 2,6l.

Its really a BETO but semes to be the same asTLRP.

225tlrp uses a compression spring under the drive shaft to control knock, however if the lower unit has been replaced with a post 95 unit all bets are off.
thats why disscusing 3 different yamaha's on the same thread gets so confusing.
