I recently bought a rig with a clean low hour (under 300) Suzuki 150 which I compression tested warm and got approx 90-95 PSI on all six cyl. Starts right up but smokes more than any other motor I've owned or worked on.
I have adjusted VRO to throttle linkage to what seems to be the lowest setting, still no change. I de-carbed it with engine "Tuner" run through air intake at fast idle, Runs well (WOT 5000) in other respects but I thought the efi would run smoother?, Also, I was given a story which suggested that the factory ECM was programmed to shut down one cyl at a time from 1100 - 1400 RPM's -- something to do with a "trolling efficiency feature" The engine does seam to run smoother just above or below that range. Any comments would be appreciated. One other thought, has anyone tried to cut the oil
put into the VRO reservoir, say by 20%, with gas to improve smoking, or will the changed viscosity throw off the VRO metering ?
