Buzzer is going off with key on, not strong signal and still goes off strong at system check startup. I'm sure it's a short, but not sure where to start. Also, is it possible that it's a bad buzzer?

I totally hate my buzzer....nothing is wrong, motor has been running great for 4 years....I have water temp gauges in both heads, and I have a water pressure gauge.....but that buzzer goes off 2 minutes after I start the motor and buzzes for 10 seconds, then goes off. But lately it comes on anytime it wants and buzzes for 10 seconds....temps could be 100 degrees!!....still goes off....

no oil tank, no oil hooked up, premix..... I have put foam around the buzzer even to quiet it down

grrr

Have not had a chance. I've got a new one somewhere in my shop, can't find it though! I replaced the buzzer right a year ago, added a systems check gauge soon after. The guy I bought the boat and motor from said the buzzer was going off so he replaced it. However, without the SC gauge, I couldn't make it sound no matter what. A few months back, I could hear faint buzzing under the console, knew there was a problem, but now it's gotten so loud that I had to unplug the buzzer. This seems like the buzzer itself is going bad, as I can't see how a short can get worse, but I dont' know electronics too well.

Start by disconnecting the three sensors and see if the buzzing stops. The three sensors on that carb motor are overheat (disconnect both sensors, one on each head), no oil (Disconnect tan/trace wire on OMS Pump) and low oil (Disconnect sensor on oil reservoir in boat). If you still get alark, start looking for shorts, missing insulation and melted wires.
