1999 Evinrude 70hp 4-stroke:<br />Model No. E70PL4EE<br />Serial No. S16002948<br /><br />Problem has been verified to be limited RPM (3000) by the ECM.<br />ECM part No. 5031738 <br />Cost from Bombardier $1069.90<br /><br />This motor went thru three shops over the last year and each could not see an error on the (legacy) test software (omc) that has not been updated because of chapter 11. An ECM swap verifies the problem because it will run fine. A rep from Bombardier told me that there is an over-rev error that can cause this and limit to 3000.<br /><br />Current option: replace ECM!<br />I have to do this because of an error code that can't be seen or reset. <br /><br />Can anyone offer a method to reset my ECM? ...refurbished? Any?
