I just recently purchased this boat and installed new speakers as well as a new Bluetooth stereo deck. The connections were all the same as previously on the boat. If I drive my boat I have zero issues at all but if I ever turn my radio on either the boat will show that the temperature is going up and then eventually goes into the red causing the temperature gauge to show up and boat to beep. As soon as I turn the radio off it stops. Other times that battery light well come up and it will beep if the radio is on and same thing if I turn it off it instantly stops. Also the oil light will flash and beep if the radio is on and if I turn it off it stops. Also the gas light will show up and will beep and the fuel gauge will start moving all the way to empty and as soon as I turn the radio off everything goes back to normal.
As I said if I don’t ever turn the stereo on I never have any issues. I just purchased a brand new battery because I thought that may be one of the concerns but that didn’t change anything and I never have any issue with starting the boat. It always starts right up.
One thing that I’m not sure is if it was doing this same thing with the old radio because I only used it once or twice before then and it didn’t have Bluetooth so I don’t really ever turn the radio on.
Any thoughts or suggestions would help?

So could I just connect a ground from the battery to the ground coming out of the stereo wire harness or would I need to do something more?

Your fuse box might have extra pos and neg terminals where you can connect the radio directly to it, that's how I did mine, & the GPS unit.

Ayuh,..... I don't know, it's possibly the problem,....
Or,.... you jostled 'round some other wires while hookin' up the radio to cause the problem,....

I'm just sayin' the issue will no doubt be found, where you were wirin',....

Where did you connect radio to? Same way the OE was connected?

Yeah. It was the exact same wire harness so I just unplugged the old and plugged in the new.

Maybe old radio versus new radio had a different illumination schematic? Curious as to the results of OP's puzzle.
