A bit of painting on my boat.

So what do you think? The old is the blue the new is the black. The blue was big time faded and stared to look realy gross. Not the greatest picture.

Also I have on bubble in the hull about the size of a dime. How do I repair that? Grind it down til its flat and epoxy it?

First thing I did was peel of all the old pinstripes, then wet sanded the blue areas with 1000 grit. Then I cleaned the hull with the goopy hull cleaner stuff. Took all the yellow stains off the hull. Painted with a can of automotive spray paint. then buffed on some maguires boat wax and thats about it. I also put on new pin striping. The whole ordeal cost me about 40 dollars. The pinstriping cost me 20 bucks.

You mentioned a blister in the coat. You can remove it with a Dremel tool, and reapply gel coat to the area after sanding and prep.

The boat looks great!

Thanks, No I just used car paint, I figured since its above the waterlineit wasnt much os a big deal, and if if flakes off I'll go buy the right stuff and re apply. I wasn't sure of the color scheme so I didn't want to spend a whole whack of money on it. Also the boat gets stored in my driveway versus in the lake so exposer is limited.

Now how is a fellow glastron owner supposed to figure out what year boat you have....you changed the color!

No worries, when I get to the point of where I am repainting mine, you'll only be able to guess that it was mid to late 70's after I'm done with it. ( crosses fingers )
