Ebb, your right, nothing wrong with getting it checked right! I should have mentioned, that my GMC is almost 20 years old. My Dodge is newer and I have never had trouble with that system. All, please listen to schematic, jimchere and others. Never, ever, pull you battery cables while the engine is running unless you have a zap stopper installed to protect you altenator. This is true on both your autos and your boats. You can destroy your altenator in seconds. BTW, that is why mutli-battery boat switches advertise a "Make before break" feature.

wow good to see all these posts I am taking it into the shop tomm and having the alternator checked I will adivse all of the outcome at least when Im ther I can ask the right questions. Gez I guess I owe alot of fishing tips to you all
