I have a 1988 18 foot bow rider that I bought in august that was in pieces.
had to install the motor ( 3.0 ) and rebuild the drive ( alpha 1, gen 1 ), re-wire it and many small things to get it running. The boat sat for 9 years with no cover so all wires that were remaining were corroded pretty bad.

Never taking on a project this large, and never working on a boat before, this was quite an experience for me since everything was done by myself and a friend, who never worked on boats either.

The boat made it to the lake today for it's maiden run and I'm happy to say all went great. All the mechanical functions went perfect, no problems at all. motor pulled smooth right up to 4700 RPM, drive ran silently, shifted great etc. It plained out good with top speed about 38 MPH.

I owe all this to you people here, I've been living on this forum since I got the boat and found all my answers here ( and in the manuals DON S told me to get LOL )

I just wanted to thank you all for the help and advice that you all are willing to share with anyone who needs it..... Russ
