BOAT/US sells this cover for$69.99. They have a website. Definitely trickle charge your battery during the winter. It will pay off in the long run.

Re: a two fer

Plugger...

I run dual batteries in my Bayliner, and I bought some of those 1.5 amp 'BATTERY MAINTAINERS'. A battery that has a constant full charge should last longer.
This is a little controversial. Some would say that if you don't let your battery drain once in a while, it won't have good 'memory'.

Be careful what you buy. Some of the chargers won't shut off after the battery is full and dry the battery out. A maintainer cycles.

I got mine off of E-Bay brand new for $20 or so.
I liked them so much, I had to buy more for my cars I don't drive often. I've also seen them at GI Joes for $25-$30.

You can also get them from various online stores. Some maintainers have multiple battery capability, however I don't like the idea of one charger for all my batteries simply because if the charger breaks down, there goes my batteries!
I run seperate maintainers for each battery. If one charger breaks, then I at least have one good battery.

When you start getting into 4 or 6 batteries, then I would consider a multiple charger.

H.

MMm Yes, Plugger...

Good idea not to leave plugged in an enclosed environment. Battery gasses = NOT GOOD.

If there's any way you could leave it outside or in an area that gets lots of ventilation, a battery maintainer would be the way to go. Just plug it in and forget about it.

Can you leave it right on the boat? Just run an extension cord out there. That's what I do.

Oh and I looked on E-Bay for the maintainers. They have a few up there right now.

They also have those 'solar' chargers, but the only one I've ever used actually DRAINED my battery in my truck and ruined it. Don't know how it happened, but it did.

H.

Re: a two fer

sorry plugger, confused your question. actually never have seen a cover you speak about, and doubt many exist. not a big market, considering you can just remove the cooler or the cushion (can't you?) i just bring my cooler in or snap off the cushion.
