Re: A view from my office window

Nice tractor, just missing the cab with the A/C and stereo. Did my share of farming as a kid. Gotta say mowing my lawn is as close to farming as I want to now. Probably my most enjoyable time of cutting hay was when my grandfather was still alive in the 60's. He let me use his horse team and an old cycle bar mower. Then used the tether, the rake, and finally the old hayloader. He wouldn't let me unload it in the barn, that was just too dangerous and complicated for me then.

After the barn was full of hay (not bailed) we would climb up on the rafters and fall about 10 to 15' into the soft hay. Sorta like a trampoline and a diving board without the bounce back up and no water to land in. Having fun back then was a lot simpler.

Nice pics, its funny how a picture can bring memories into a persons mind. Thanks!

I sure wish I could do it full time. Well mines just about full time now, just not full pay. I love the mountains you have there, I'd love to see that everyday.

Looks as dry there as it is here. We had a 2000 acre fire take out 13 homes about a mile upwind from us yesterday. We are holding our own for now.
Here is a pic of the view out of my office window.;
Edit
Did you originally post two pix? I can't see the mountains to which Big Brother alludes.

Re: A view from my office window

You reffered to me as Big Brother. Here, maybe not in California, brothers usually refer to each other as Bubba. I didn't take offense at you referring to me as brother, and figured you wouldn't find offense in me reffering to you as Bubba. It wasn't meant to be offensive. See the new post please.

So, it was me that you were making the above "non offensive remark" about. I just wanted to make sure it was intended more me as the last time you made disparaging remarks directed at me you crawfished.

I used Big Brother in the LE0 1984 sense, referenced by your former? avatar.

I am surprised JB didn't tear you a new one for starting a new thread.

You are all forgiven and a member in good standing as far as I am concerned. Have a nice day.......
Good on you Dunaruna.
There is nothing better than spending hour after hour all by yourself working out in the "open". I actually talk to my self, and I answer myself too, not out loud of course. And some times I think about all those important people with those really important jobs, and how lucky they are to be able to travel to a real office, and then I wonder if they enjoy their day as much as I (and obviously you) do.
What are the trees/crop from the bathroom window?
Cheers
Phillip

Re: A view from my office window

You want more pics?

I couldn't agree more! It gives you plenty of time to think, and solve all those (seemingly) major daily problems.

Physically, I worked hard, slept well - and lost 15kg over 3 months. The funny thing is, I have not changed my eating habits. I feel fit, healthy and content. :) .

And there has been a strange (but welcomed) side effect of my recent country stint - my uplifted attitude has uplifted Kerryn's attitude. I come home in a good mood, all smiles and good cheer.

As I said at the beginning, I would reccomend this to anyone, it's good for the soul.

I just noticed, it sort of ties in with my sig ;)
