If the fuel pump is ok, and it will run if you keep squirting fuel into the carb, you have a carb problem. Have you completely dismantled the carb and cleaned all passages and orifices?
I just tried to look up your carb and can't find a 50hp in 1976, what's your model number?

Oh yea that's a typo. Its a 1970.... at least I'm 90% sure it is. Do u all soak ur carbs? Or have one of those vibrating tubs? Any tips or recommended products?

Berrymans carb and parts cleaner. about $20.00 bucks here for 1 gallon. Dont soak any plastic. Remove any and all core/welch plugs. Be careful not to drill in to carb/s, just enough to get a pick to pry them out. Allow parts to soak for 24hrs. Rinse with fresh water and blowdry any and all holes clean and dry. You should remove high/low speed jets pryor to soaking. If your carb/s have a tube that goes up the middle of high speed jet. Leave it there even if it appears to be bent. Good luck and post back. Do yourself a favor, use OEM kit/s!

I went through this with my 1977 55 HP. evinrude........... Drove me insane. I continued to rebuild the carb. bought new fuel pump and hoses. turned out it was a bad exhaust gasket between the powerhead and the exhaust housing that allowed just enough water into the intake to snuff out a combustable mixture in the cylinder after it ran for a minute.
