Hello All.....I have a 1988 Mercruiser 5.0 with thunderbolt lV....Last year I change my spark plugs Using AC Delco # MR43T Plugs........This Year The Mercruiser Parts Dept Told me that I should be using # MR43LTS Plugs....The LTS Plugs are longer than the 43T's...Just doesn't seem right to me....I Don't want to damage the Motor......Anybody Idea.....Thank You

Re: AC Spark Plugs

Using a longer reach plug may contact a piston top, not beneficial to the plug or the piston.

It's not right. Your engine needs the MR43T, not the LTS. Your parts guy must be related to ours. Doesn't have a clue.

MR43T is the correct plug for your engine.

MR43LTS plugs are for engines with VORTEC heads. Those heads didn't come out until 1995-96.

You should consider reporting that parts guy to the manager, So that he will not have a chance to damage a bunch of engines at the dealers cost.;)
